It’s awards season!!

I love this time of year, awards season. All manner of celebrities come out in the latest creations hot off the runway, either to make a statement or to blend into the background. We’ll no doubt be seeing a lot of Marchesa as that is always a popular choice for the big awards like the Oscars, but I’m hoping to see some Givenchy couture and John Galliano for Dior with a bit of classic Chanel thrown in.

So far I’ve seen Michelle Williams sporting the same style of 50’s round skirt and little cap sleeves, it works although I’d like to see her mix it up a bit. I’m enjoying watching a very pregnant Natalie Portman’s version of maternity gown wear, she’s so petite anyway you would hardly notice she’s expecting. Then we have her Black Swan co-star Mila Kunis, her youthful choices are going to be perfect for the Golden Globes, hopefully she won’t succumb to the full-length gown bore that the 27 year old should avoid, although I wouldn’t mind seeing her in the mini skirt in the front maxi skirt in the back style that Gemma Arterton before her has sported.

Hopefully we’ll see something extravagant on Julianne Moore, although she’s slightly older than the young stars before her she’s willing to take risks and her age doesn’t stop her from posing naked for Bulgari. We know Helena Bonham Carter is a massive fan of Vivienne Westwood but could she venture further afield to the likes of John Galliano?

It was the 16th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards last night, here are the women I’m keeping my eye on:

Julianne Moore in Roland Mouret

Michelle Williams in Balenciaga

Mila Kunis in Nina Ricci, cute and perfect

Natalie Portman in Gianfranco Ferre

Emma Stone in Balenciaga, looking uh-mazing

Eva Mendes in Valentino Haute Couture, short and sexy
