Screen Actors’ Guild Awards 2011

Here we go again, I didn’t stay up to watch this live on the net but have trawled through the pictures from the awards ceremony to see who looked Biutiful at the 17th Annual SAG Awards.

Congratulations go to Natalie Portman and Colin Firth for the big wins and The King’s Speech won Best Ensemble Cast, as well as Christian Bale for Best Supporting Actor and Melissa Leo for Best Supporting Actress.

Here’s my favourites, with a surprise appearance from Helena Bonham Carter!

Paris Haute Couture 2011

Normally I don’t pay attention to haute couture, it’s too extravagant and over the top, but this year designers have gone minimal, intricate and beautiful (well mostly). I’ve picked my favourites from the designers that have showcased their couture designs so far, Alexis Mabille, Armani Prive, Bouchra Jarrar, Chanel, Christian Dior, Elie Saab, GivenchyJean Paul Gaultier and Valentino.

There are plenty of options for future award shows, especially from the amazingly talented Elie Saab. And I absolutely adore the Chanel sequin leggings, what’s not to love?

The bold and daring First Lady

Another reason why Michelle Obama is the most stylish First Lady since Jackie Kennedy Onassis, wearing a bold and daring Alexander McQueen print dress, she accompanies her husband to a state dinner before meeting the Chinese President.

Anne Hathaway is Catwoman

Well done to Anne Hathaway who has landed the role of Selina Kyle, also known as CATWOMAN in the 3rd and final Batman instalment from director Christopher Nolan. Warner Bros. released a statement today stating that the actress had won the part over other stars such as Keira Knightley, Rachel Weisz, Naomi Watts, Blake Lively and Natalie Portman (Deadline).

Nolan is quoted as saying, “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story.” Tom Hardy’s villain character was also revealed as Bane, apparently known as the one “that broke the Bat”.

Let’s hope that Hathaway does a better job than Halle Berry did in the previous Catwoman remake, with Nolan at the helm I’m sure she won’t go wrong.
