Michelle Williams named as “Oscar favourite”

On JustJared this morning these beautiful images of Michelle Williams appeared from her spread in Angeleno magazine, absolutely stunning. Of course I had to share them, the magazine names her a major Oscar contender for her performance in indie movie Blue Valentine, alongside the delectable Ryan Gosling.

“I was just an actor who happened to be lucky enough to be in the right place, and it was the place where I met Matlida’s father [the late Heath Ledger], and that is a lot. And it will be a lot for Matlida too, when she gets around to watching it. I will watch it with her, when she’s ready.”

Happy One Year.

I’d like to draw your attention to the fact I have had my blog for 1 whole year. I am quite proud that I have managed to keep up writing and updating my site for this long.

I honestly thought I would grow bored within a few months, but when you realise how much fun it is to tell people what you think about everything and nobody can tell you to stop it becomes more addictive than tweeting.

There were times when I went overboard, a few posts a day, everyday, I’m sure my lovely readers got sick of me and I realised I needed to calm down. But when my favourite celebrities are attending glamourous events and wearing beautifully designed clothes I can’t resist, especially if it’s Blake in Chanel or Diane in Chanel or Rachel in Chanel…

You get my point, here is to another year of fun, frolics and fashion; to Chanel and Karl, to Celine and Pheobe, to Lanvin and Alber; to Karlie, Coco, Karolina, Selita, Abbey, Anja, Freja, Carmen, Erin, Miranda, Naomi, and Rosie.

So it’s nearly the New Year, and I want to revisit Day Twenty Nine of my ’30 Day Challenge’ that I did throughout May and June of this year, “Hopes, plans and dreams for the next 365 days”. They were kind of like my mid-year resolutions some of them I completed and most of them I will carry on throughout 2011:

My plan…

…is to have watched every episode of Dawson’s Creek and The O.C

…is to have lost enough weight to fit into one of my favourite dresses without it splitting (ha ha)

…is to get another tattoo within the next month

…is to make sure I write something poignant and inspiring on my blog by new years

…that I actually pass my degree so I can attend graduation

…I will be successful in something within the next year

…I get a full-time job to pay off my stupid overdraft

My dream…

…is this time next year to be somewhere that isn’t the UK

…is to have my version of a perfect body by next summer

Hair of 2010

I think I’d like to crown Michelle Williams with the best Hairstyle of 2010, the ice blonde cropped locks suit her petite features beautifully. Everytime I see her a part of me inside wants to chop all my hair off exactly like that, but it’s soo not practical at all.

The dip-dye trend has been mahoosive this year and who better to demonstrate this than Rachel Bilson and Drew Barrymore.

Rachel Bilson

Drew Barrymore at the premierf Going the Distance, which by the way was one of my favourite movies this year.

The sexiest hair obviously goes to Blake Lively, I mean I could probably give her an award for anything and everything so it’s no surprise. So from ruffled ponytails, sleek dos, and loose tumbling waves Blake can do no wrong.

Transformation of the year would have to go to Emma Watson, yes pretty obvious, but she was brave enough to chop all of her Hermione locks off. I have grown to like it, but I’m still not sold on the British Vogue December cover, the outfit is too ageing. Although kudos to the person who came up with the entire “Star Issue” idea.

Emma Watson and that crop

And the biggest hair faux pas has to go to that actress with the forehead who I cannot stand. The whingy voice, the googly eyes and the ability to be that horrible (rumoured) to work with none of her male leads want to work with her again.

Yes you Heigl.

The Kooples

I remembered where I read about the uber cool new French brand The Kooples, it was Grazia, they has a lovely dps on the ad campaaign and I felt I needed to repeat it here because it is just too good to miss out on.

My favourite “Koople” is Anna and Lars, first for him having the best name, for her being able to rock a suit just as well as Lars, and for being the sexiest “real-life” couple ever.

The clothes are smart and totally androgynous, which is why the women’s line has as Grazia puts it, that certain “je ne sais quoi”.
